After waiting 18 months for my Orwo film to arrive, here are my first photos from Orwo Wolfen NC500. I’m a little disappointed that the colors didn’t turn out as virbrant as they look in Orwo’s examples, but the lighting conditions probably played a part in that (I shot this ISO 400 film on a bright day in contrasty light).
Was it worth the 18-month wait? Maybe. I have two more rolls of this film and I’ll try to shoot them under different lighting conditions. Hopefully, I get better results. That being said, I’m quite happy to see that Orwo has learned from their delays. They’ve posted an update video acknowledging their lack of communication amidst the many challenges they’ve faced and are offering customers 40% off all their photographic films until the end of January!
Built in 1907, the McDougall Centre was originally a school used for the training of teachers.[1]A short history of the McDougall Centre can be found here. Today it is an office and meeting space for the provincial government.
Foodie, oenophile, traveler, hockey player, teacher, husband & father. I am many things, but at my core, I am a writer and photographer. Give me a notebook, a camera and a pocketful of film and I’m happy. Going Lomo is where I share my love for film photography, because a photograph not shared, only speaks silence.
