Ralph Klein Park

Sarah & I spent an afternoon wandering around Ralph Klein Park. Even though Kodak UltraMax film is considered to be ‘consumer’ film, I quite like its color palette. I was happy with the way these turned out.
Kunming Lake

Sarah & I toured the Summer Palace on our first full day in Beijing, China. It was a spectacular day but Sarah wasn’t too pleased with me by the end. The temperature reached an incredibly hot 40˚C, and not only did I make her climb to the top of Longevity Hill to take some photos, […]
Scarecrow at Angel’s Cafe

I shot this one weekend outside Angel’s Cafe before taking a photowalk in Edworthy Park.
Remembrance and Renewal

These are from the Juno Beach Centre in Courseulles-sur-Mer, France. The statue is called Remembrance and Renewal and is a memorial to the Canadian soldiers who stormed Juno Beach on D-Day and fought in World War II.
Random Shots Around Yangshuo

I picked up 8 rolls of Perutz Primera 100 film on eBay and have been thrilled by how well this expired, discontinued film has stood the test of time. These photos were taken around Yangshuo, China.
Dolphins at Ocean Park

Sarah and I caught the dolphin show at Ocean Park in Hong Kong. I was quite pleased at how well my Olympus Trip 35 managed to freeze the action of the dolphins jumping. These were shot on the new Kodak Ektachrome E100. Ektachrome is one of my favourite films and I can’t wait to shoot […]
Mahjong in the Hutong

As we took a walk through an old hutong near the Bell Tower in Beijing, I came across a group of locals playing mahjong. These were shot on Lomography’s new B&W film: Potsdam Kino 100.
Jericho Beach Walk

Sarah and I took a walk along Vancouver’s Jericho Beach last summer. The haze in the background is from BC forest fires.
Trip 35 Studio Test

I recently bought an inexpensive hot shoe to PC sync adapter that allows me to use many of my film cameras with my studio strobes. I made Sarah pose for me while I tested it with my Olympus Trip 35 and took this photo.
Rollerblading the Seawall

Last summer, Sarah and I decided to rollerblade the Stanley Park Seawall while we were in Vancouver visiting family.
Xi’an Muslim Quarter

Of the many places that Sarah & I visited in China this summer, one of my favourites was the Xi’an Muslim Quarter. I could have spent hours wandering and photographing the Muslim Quarter’s night market. It was simply incredible! Sadly, I was unprepared that night and hadn’t brought enough film. These are some of the […]
Chinese Calligraphy

I recently visited China for my honeymoon. Sarah and I spent three weeks travelling the country visiting many places including the city of Chengdu, where we spent an afternoon in People’s Park. Near the Railway Protection Movement Monument, we saw an old man practicing calligraphy. He was writing poetry on the pavement with a brush […]
