I shot these at the Calgary Marathon in 2016. I downloaded the marathon course map and looked for a good spot to take my photos. I figured that the starting line and finishing line would be very busy and probably best to be avoided. So I picked a spot approximately half way around the course […]
P30 Alpha is a new B&W panchromatic film made by Ferrania, an Italian film manufacturer. It’s actually an old film that has been resurrected by the also resurrected Ferrania. I love the contrast of this film! I think it’s just gorgeous. I plan to shoot more of this film and hope to have similar results. […]
I shot these at Olympic Plaza in downtown Calgary. I spent an afternoon trying my hand at street photography with a manual camera, the Praktica MTL3. I was using a Russian lens, an f/2 85mm Jupiter-9.
These were shot at Coyote Flats with a Kodak Ektralite 500. When I was helping my mom move back in 2016, I came across her old 110 film camera. Curious to see if the camera still worked, I asked my mom if I could have it and she gave it to me along with an […]
These were shot with the Lomography Belair X 6-12 Jetsetter using the 35mm Back so that I could shoot sprockets. I scanned them myself using the Lomography Digitaliza 35mm scanning mask.
I shot these photos of The 427’s at the Lilac Festival in 2016. The 427’s are this really cool retro instrumental surf rock band and they are having an anniversary show this Friday. Sadly, I won’t be able to attend. These photos were shot on expired Fuji Sensia 100 film and cross-processed in C41 chemicals. […]
I shot these at the Calgary Zoo’s Prehistoric Park on redscale film with the ISO set to 50. I absolutely love the golden yellow tones you get with shooting redscale!
I love shooting old film just to see what I will get. It’s a bit of a crap shoot when you don’t know how the film has been stored. Will the photos turn out? Or won’t they? These were shot in Banff, Alberta almost 2 years ago on a roll of Fuji Super G Plus […]
I belong to a number of different camera clubs on Meetup and one of the clubs held a photo walk at Spruce Meadows. These were taken in the summer of 2016.
I shot these back in Autumn, 2016 at the International Balloon Festival in High River, Alberta. Hot air balloons only fly at dawn, so I had to drive out to High River early that morning to catch the action. There were very few spectators and I was able to set up my tripod in a […]
Here are the photos from week 3 in my 52 Week Photography Challenge. Week 3’s challenge was to take artistic photos of something red. While these photos may lack artistry, they certainly are red. I shot these in Edworthy Park.
These photos are from one of the few rolls of film to have survived my recent postal film fiasco. I shot these at YMCA Camp Chief Hector while I was out on a morning hike. I used Kodak Elite Chrome 100 film that I had cross-processed at The Darkroom. I love how some of the […]
