While out for a walk one day, I came across this pair of shoes pinned well above my head on a telephone pole. I guess someone must have lost their shoes.
Here are some more photos from my cycling trip through Myra Canyon on the Kettle Valley Railway. These were shot with my Ultra Wide & Slim. It’s interesting to compare photos #2106 and #2108 (below) with photos #838 and #839 respectively. They were taken from the same vantage point, but with different cameras. Photos #838 […]
With Christmas just a few days away, I want to wish everyone happy holidays! Whether you are a regular visitor to my film photography blog or you arrived here by accident, I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I wish you a healthy, happy, and prosperous new year! Cheers, Dan
The Kettle Valley Railway was a railway that ran across southern Bristish Columbia through Myra Canyon and operated during the first half of the 20th century. It was finally abandoned in 1989 with portions converted into a recreational trail. Sadly, a 2003 forest fire destroyed 14 of the 18 original wooden trestle bridges in Myra […]
These photos are from Il Giardino Italiano, my favourite part of Hastings Park. The garden features many beautiful fountains and the ‘Opera Walk’ is a hidden gem. I hope to visit the park again the next time I’m back in Vancouver.
This is the Jericho Sailing Centre on Jericho Beach in Vancouver. Many years ago, I had an awesome summer job working here with a summer school program for children with disabilites. It was two weeks of sailing, kayaking, rowing, and just hanging out at the beach! The students were great fun and they loved every […]
This is the view looking north across Burrard Inlet from Prospect Point at Stanley Park in Vancouver. The first two photos feature the Lions Gate Bridge which was built in the 1930’s by the Guiness family (the same family responsible for the eponymous Irish stout), while the last photo is of Ambleside Beach in West […]
Twenty years ago, I went back to university to get a second degree. These were taken on a field trip as part of a geology course I was taking at the time. From Vancouver, we drove up the coast on the Sea to Sky Highway and stopped along the way to look at rocks and […]
I shot these in Vancouver’s Il Giardino Italiano (the Italian Garden) at Hasting’s Park. It’s a beautiful garden to wander through with plenty of flowers and amazing fountains. The Opera Walk is especially beautiful.
These are from a canoe trip on Widgeon Creek that I took with my friend Barry. I’ve done this trip before and will probably do it again one day. It’s always fun.
